Fig Tree Dormant Cuttings: FALL SHIPPED

$10.95

All of the fig trees we offer have been chosen with these useful characteristics in mind: Produce fruit on new growth wood (main crop); mid summer to early fall ripening; high vigor; good to excellent flavor; will be root hardy outside to at least USDA climate zone 6 (In cold climates I recommend potted, greenhouse growing, wrapping, or burying the tree's trunk to get larger yields).

"Ficus carica is an Asian species (subtropics/Mediterranean) of flowering plant in the mulberry family, known as the common fig. It is the source of the fruit also called the fig and as such is an important crop in those areas where it is grown commercially." Many varieties of figs (and there are hundreds of varieties) are easy to grow outside in the ground or in pots in temperate climates of North America. When treated well, grown in living soil and moderate moisture, after 3 to 5 years, they can produce hundreds of sweet delicious nutritious fruit!

With this purchase you are receiving 2, four to eight inch dormant fig cuttings. Cuttings are made in the winter, after the tree goes dormant, then they are put in cold storage, and will be ready to root out of the box in your home or garden once the threat of frost has passed.

There are many ways to root fig cuttings... Search online YouTube videos for the method you prefer to use. We will ship you a mix bag in the spring,

UNLESS YOU SPECIFY AT CHECKOUT WHICH VARIETY YOU PREFER.
